If you're living in Minnesota and unable to work due to a medical condition, you may qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). However, not all conditions meet the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) strict criteria for disability. To be approved, your condition must be severe, well-documented, and expected to last at least 12 months or result in death.

Understanding which conditions qualify is crucial when preparing your SSDI application.

Find out if you qualify for SSDI benefits. Pre-qualify in 60 seconds for up to $4,018 per month and 12 months back pay.

Please answer a few questions to help us determine your eligibility.

SSA's Blue Book – Official List of Qualifying Conditions

Medical Conditions That Don’t Appear in the Blue Book

Even if your condition is not listed in the Blue Book, you may still qualify if:

  • Your symptoms are equal in severity to a listed impairment
  • You can provide strong medical documentation showing your condition prevents you from working
  • Your residual functional capacity (RFC) proves you can't perform past work or adjust to new work

Proving Your Condition Qualifies

To be approved for SSDI in Minnesota, you’ll need:

  • Comprehensive medical records (diagnoses, treatments, lab results, doctor notes)
  • Documentation of how your condition limits your daily activities and ability to work
  • Statements from your treating physicians about your limitations
  • Evidence of continued treatment and compliance with medical advice
